DINDA FADILLAH

Assalamualaikum..
Hello guys, welcome to my second blog✨
This time i want to tell about my experience for 3 days 2 nights nature field trip in Toraja Regency.

It was Monday, October 21, 2019 and we are going to Toraja. From campus to toraja takes about 8 hours, but because we have a lot of layovers so we arrive in toraja rather late. We have lunch in Barru Regency, precisely at Kupa Beach restaurant and also do Dhuhr prayer there. Then we continued the journey to Enrekang Regency and stopped again at the Resting House Bambapuang. There we were served warm tea, a long trip from Makassar it was just right when drinking tea, is it right guys? Hahaha. There we are also spoiled by the beauty of the erotic mountain. Then we continue the journey to toraja. We arrived in toraja around 6 pm, really a very long journey guys... and also we were immediately served a welcome drink by the hotel. Then we had dinner at the Ayam Penyet Ria and that distance was very close from the hotel so we just walk. Then after dinner and evaluation night, we go back to the hotel to rest because tomorrow we want to trekking....Wow I'm so excited.

We start trekking in Timenbayo. Imagine guys, we leave at 7 in the morning and then finish trekking and return to the hotel it's already maghrib... imagine how tired it is? ha ha ha ha. But all the tiredness paid off by the natural beauty of Toraja which is very cool.

Well, I want to tell you a little bit about some of the new lessons I learned during trekking.

The first is the traditional house of tongkonan. At the front of the house there are buffalo horns lined up and show the high degree of family who inhabit the house. The buffalo horn ornament in front of the tongkonan symbolizes the economic ability of the homeowner during the burial ceremony of his family members. Every traditional ceremony in Toraja, such as a funeral, will sacrifice a large number of buffalo. Buffalo horns are then mounted on the tongkonan of the family concerned. The more horns installed in front of the tongkonan, the higher the social status of the owner's family.

Then the second is Pa'piong. Pa'piong is a typical Toraja dish consisting of miana leaves mixed with pork, free-range chicken or goldfish (but calm down guys.... at that time we ate chicken meat. And you can request what meat you want) Meat in it are scattered and mixed with grated coconut that is yellowing because of the seasoning. Spices used include sliced shallots and garlic, salt, ginger slices, and lemongrass stems to remove the fishy odor. After the miana leaves are wrapped, pa'piong is put into bamboo stems and burned.

Then the third is baby grave in a tree. Only babies who have died and have not yet grown teeth are buried here, precisely in a Tarra tree. Babies who do not have teeth are considered still sacred. While the Tarra tree was chosen as a baby grave because this type of tree has a lot of sap which is considered as a substitute for breast milk. By burying the baby in a Tarra tree as if returning the baby to the mother's womb. Tucked hope, that by returning the baby to the womb of his mother will save babies born later. The baby's body is placed in a standing position assuming the baby will also grow inside the tree.

Well guys... after a tired day of trekking, we returned to the hotel for a short break. Then, dinner at the Aras Cafe. As long as you know guys, this Aras Cafe is the best restaurant in toraja and can also be a restaurant recommendation to you who will come to toraja later.

After three days in toraja, we from the hotel headed to Makassar with the same route as the first day, lunch on the Teras Empang Restaurant in Parepare City. After the Maghrib we arrived in Makassar.

Really 3 days that were very memorable for me, the natural beauty of tana toraja is undeniable. I hope you will go to Toraja after reading this blog hehehe
thank you for reading guys ..

Marine Field Trip Report In Dutungan Island And Paputo Beach

Hello guys...
Bonjour...
So on this blog I will tell you about my experience during my trip in Barru Regency & Parepare City. Because this is my first blog, so I will introduce myself first. I am Dinda, a student majoring in Tour & Travel business at Makassar Tourism Polytechnic. Happy reading guys ..

The first day,
Friday, October 4, 2019.
We are gathering in front of orange building while the tour leader distributing the idcard and audio system guide. Then we left the Poltekpar campus at 07.00. Along the way we went to the island of Dutungan accompanied by some information by friends who got turn for guiding.

After 2 hours later, we arrived at Tanjung Indah Dock, then we crossed by boat to get to the dutungan island. After arriving at the dutungan island, we were given time to change clothes to do diving. After changing clothes we listened to some instructions or procedures for doing diving exercises properly by expert instructors. Then, we ate afternoon first before coming down to water. After lunch, we are welcome to dive according to the order of the group that has been determined. There are two types of water sports that are provided namely diving and snorkeling.

I had the opportunity to try both, and that was my first experience diving and snorkeling, I was very impressed with the natural beauty of under the sea in this dutungan island. There are some coral and some very beautiful fish species that I could see with my own eyes. After a few hours later, we were told to change our clothes to immediately continue the journey to the city parepare because it was late afternoon. On the way to the city of parepare, followed by a guiding by a friend who got a turn. after arriving at the hotel, we were given each room key, then given a short break and then immediately changed into batik clothes for dinner.

We had dinner at the Ayam Penyet Ria restaurant, the location was very close to the hotel so we just walked. Then after dinner, we continued the presentation session of assignments given previously by the tour leader in the hotel restaurant. Then followed by an entertaimen session where each group displays their respective talents. After the whole program was over, we were told to go back to our rooms to sleep.

The next day
Saturday, October 5, 2019.
We did a morning excercise in front of the hotel then walked around to see the beautiful city of Parepare in the morning and also we stopped at the monument of true love Habibie & Ainun.

Then after a long walk, we returned to the hotel for breakfast. The food provided by the hotel is porridge, fried rice, bread, milk, tea, coffee. After all the students had breakfast. We returned to our room to pack and then proceed to Paputo Beach.

In paputo beach, we did observations and fun. There are some friends who sing while dancing to fill time and it's very fun. We enjoyed the beautiful beach of Paputo while snacking on fried bananas. And I also had time to capture a photo in the beauty of Paputo Beach. After a few hours, we returned to the bus to head to the Teras Empang restaurant for lunch. Here we are quite long and there are some friends who perform the dzuhur prayer. The food is very delicious.

After that, we returned to the bus to continue the journey back to the Makassar City. On the way home we were given a free program to sleep for a while. We arrived in Makassar precisely at Makassar Poltekpar at 17.00. Then do the absence and check the audio system guide so that no one is scattered. After that we went back to our homes.

In my opinion this is a very memorable 2 days and a very pleasant field trip among several previous field trips.

Thankyou poltekpar..
